ISO vegetable gardeners in the suburbs to share ideas before I plant this year!

Look who survived all winter in on our front lawn! I have conquered kale. Victoriously self-reliant in kale consumption. (#easiestplanttogrow)

As the new gardening season starts, I’m looking for fellow gardeners who live in the city and are interested in trying to grow as much of their own food as possible in a small space. I’m no expert, so am hoping to start conversations about vertical gardening, straw bale gardening, and urban farming. I’ve made this blog as a platform to start discussions.  Depending on how close we are to each other, we could even talk about trading produce that works well in our different spaces. If you want kale, let me know!

Please leave a message, and we’ll start some threads of conversations. Hope to hear your ideas of how you’re planting things this season (and maybe copy them)!

  1. I have 2 4×8 raised beds in my front yard, have 2 Apple trees, a cherry, a plum and 2 kiwi vines. In the back yard I have strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and a peach. Rosemary, chives, mint, oregano and lemon balm. I live on a city lot in Surrey

    • I love it! This is exactly what I think more home owners need to do. Can I ask what you’re planting soon in the raised beds? Another question: I have raspberry shoots, but am not sure how to prune or tie them? Any advice?
